The Firm

Ronan & Tagart, PLC, offers our clients experienced, trusted and diligent representation. The firm counsels individuals and small to medium sized businesses on a wide variety of business and estate planning matters. Our business clients range from restaurants, technology companies, car dealerships, countless service companies, construction, manufacturing and contractors to all manner of sales businesses, to name a few. The firm provides clients in Arizona with strategic advice and counseling regarding business and corporate transactions, employee relations, estate planning and probate.

Small Firm Advantage

While practicing in a large firm, Yvonne came to realize that the small firm environment is the best way to provide her clients with the attention and personalized service they appreciate and deserve. In the more informal, relaxed atmosphere of a small firm, clients often get to know us on a personal level and know that their legal matter will not be “handed off” to another, possibly less experienced, attorney. In addition, unlike large firms, our firm has lower overhead costs which affords us the opportunity to offer a more reasonable fee structure to our clients.

Professional Honors

At Ronan & Tagart, PLC, we are grateful to our peers in the legal community who have honored Yvonne with the highest rating of AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell®. Yvonne was also named in the Arizona Republic's 2015 Arizona’s Top Lawyers by the Arizona Republic in the following areas: General Practice and Labor and Employment.

Trusts & Estates

While no one likes to think about death or disability, having a will or trust prepared (along with powers of attorney) is one of the best things a person can do to protect themselves and ease the burden on their families if something unexpected were to happen.

Risks of online forms and paralegals

Wills and Trusts prepared by non-attorneys or forms available on the Internet are often much cheaper than hiring an attorney to assist with your estate plan. There is a reason for that. Review any website with online estate planning forms and non-attorney or paralegal estate planning website and, while it may be hidden on the “Legal Disclaimer” section of the site, these websites must disclose they can only complete forms and cannot provide legal advice regarding any particular situation. Anyone who needs or wants an estate plan should seek advice of an experienced attorney who can advise his or her clients regarding legal implications, pitfalls and issues associated with a particular course of action in an estate plan. While it might be more expensive to hire an attorney to prepare a Will or Trust, it will likely save money, time and frustration for your family if something unexpected were to happen. The firm's clients have peace of mind once their Will or Trust is executed because they know that they have provided for their families.

Ronan & Tagart, PLC can advise you on the best approach to your estate planning after thoroughly analyzing your situation and strategize the best means of ensuring your estate planning wishes are followed, which may include, minimizing taxes, establishing guardianship for your children, supporting personal philanthropic causes and protecting your loved ones.

Ronan & Tagart, PLC prepares all types of estate planning documents, including:
* Wills
* Revocable Trusts (aka Living Trusts)
* Living wills
* Health Care and Durable Powers of Attorney
* Limited Powers of Attorney
* Comprehensive Transfer Documents
* Gifting Agreements

Statutory Agent Services

Arizona law requires that all entities (corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, etc.) appoint an Arizona Statutory Agent (sometimes called a Registered Agent). The Statutory Agent may be a company or an individual designated to accept legal service and other important notices and documents on behalf of the company/corporation.

Ronan & Tagart, PLC, through its service company, RT Services, LLC, offers competitively priced Statutory Agent Services for your business--- an annual fee of only $100.00. Examples of documents served on the Statutory Agent include lawsuits, garnishments, demand letters, subpoenas, notices from the Arizona Corporation Commission, Industrial Commission of Arizona and City of Phoenix and correspondence from other municipal and governmental agencies.

Some business owners choose to name themselves or an employee as Statutory Agent. This practice is perfectly acceptable and legal. However, if a process server is unable serve that individual after multiple attempts (if the person is out of town or otherwise unavailable during business hours), a judge can authorize service by publication and it is possible that the plaintiff can obtain a default judgment without the business owner knowing a lawsuit has been filed, which can result in serious legal consequences for your business.

Appointing RT Services, LLC as your Statutory Agent ensures that you will never miss an attempt to serve your company. In addition, your employees and customers will not see you served with a lawsuit and we, not you, will receive the solicitations and junk mail since the information is available online as a public record. Contact the firm today about our Statutory Agent Services.

Outside General Counsel

The Firm’s cost-effective method for businesses to get dependable and timely legal assistance without hiring an in-house attorney

While businesses could greatly benefit from a dedicated general counsel on staff to advise and handle its legal needs, few businesses can actually afford the additional expense of hiring an in-house attorney. In these instances, Ronan & Tagart, PLC offers an alternative billing model: a monthly retainer arrangement, instead of the traditional hourly rate. With this Outside General Counsel model, the business owner has access to legal advice and services as issues occur from an experienced attorney familiar with their business at a predictable monthly cost. Ronan & Tagart, PLC’s Outside General Counsel services permit businesses to have a cost-effective, proactive approach to current and potential legal issues rather than reacting to situations as issues arise.
